The Chinese regime threatened the president of NTD Canada in an apparent effort to stifle the television station’s reporting of the regime’s abuses.
Joe Wang, president of NTD Canada, said he received a call from his brother’s home in eastern China Aug. 22. But with his brother at the other end of the phone were Chinese security agents who told Wang to tone down his company’s critical reporting of the regime.
Wang said the presence of security agents at his brother’s home was meant to warn him that his brother could be hurt by them.
Wang said uncensored news was critical to the Chinese people. He refused to alter the station’s broadcast.
