NAGOYA, Japan—Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company successfully concluded its performance in Nagoya, Japan, on April 26. Mr. Ding, a Chinese doctor who has lived in Japan for a year, took a special trip from more than 100 kilometers away to see Shen Yun at Aichi Prefectural Arts Theater Big Hall, Nagoya.

Shen Yun is a perfect performance, Mr. Ding said, it has a strong artistic influence, which directly strikes the audience’s heart. Mr. Ding has watched many shows in China, but it was the first time for him to see such a unique show as Shen Yun, he said.

Mr. Ding felt hope from seeing the show. “Our 5,000 years of traditional culture has gone through a tremendous ruin. We’ve lost too much. So you cannot see such a pure artistic performance [in China]. From Shen Yun, you can see not only skills, but traditional Chinese culture. More importantly, it is carrying forward those things, which you cannot see elsewhere. So I am quite inspired by it. I saw the hope of the Chinese culture,” he said.

He stressed his gratitude toward Shen Yun Performing Arts. “As a Chinese, I am grateful to Shen Yun Performing Arts. First, I thank their choreographers, who have great and creative skills. They recombine the divinely inspired culture and Chinese tradition and history, which was cut off and gone. Now it was recovered. So I appreciate that Shen Yun has made such a magnificent contribution to the Chinese culture. I believe that Shen Yun will have a deep and perfect impact in China’s history of culture and civilization. Thank you, Shen Yun Performing Arts.”

Mr. Ding also said that since Shen Yun comes from the U.S., it is able to apply high-technology to the stage, so the presentation was innovative. “Traditional stages in China use slides for their backdrops. Shen Yun has made the backdrop three-dimensional. It becomes one with the performers on the stage. The performing space is changed and extended.”

In conclusion, Mr. Ding hoped that Shen Yun can flourish and produce more and more programs, and one day perform in China so that the Chinese people can also enjoy it.
