Beijing—On October 25, China’s foreign affairs spokesman Liu Jianchao denied Russian media reports on China’s intention to sell ten Jian-10 fighter jets to Iran.

At a press conference, Liu said that he had read the media report and accused the Russian media of making groundless reports. He said China has not conducted any negotiations with Iran on the so-called fighter jets sale.

Jian-10 is a fighter jet developed by China. It is said that its capability is similar to the F-16 A/B fighter jet currently used in Taiwan’s air force, having a maximum speed of two Maches, 1,100 kilometers combat-radius, 2,500 kilometers maximum range and can carry payloads up to 7,000 kilograms.
