Chef killed over meal: Japanese chef Miki Nozawa was killed by two guests over a dish of fried noodles.

The two suspects, aged 36 and 50, were angry over a dish of fried noodles with vegetables and beef, and asked for their money back. German news site welt.de reported that they were intoxicated, citing a police official. The official said the investigation is ongoing.

The incident happened on the German island of Sylt, a destination for many vacationers.

It is unclear how the chef was hurt by the two people during a physical confrontation, but Nozawa later died at a hospital from “severe brain injuries and internal bleeding,” according to his ex-wife. The two people subsequently disappeared.

Nozawa has worked out of Sylt since April, according to German news site shz.de. He is best known for fusing Italian and Japanese dishes.
