MTV’s reality docu-serious “Catish” is making its debut tonight, May 6 for its third season. Audiences have been wondering, will it be romantic, dramatic or a mixture of both?
Nothing is worse than finding out that the person who fell in love with is actually not the person who you thought they were at all. Nev Schulman, producer of “Catfish,” is trying to prevent others from going through what he went through.
Schulman was tricked into a relationship via Internet and he too, was “Catfished.” Season 3 will not be all romantic stories, but it will be the “darkest season yet,” Schulman said to MTV.
Cyberbullying is going to be a big part of “Catfish” this season. “There’s also a lot more cyberbullying this season as well, and people who are using catfish profiles for a lot of different motives, not just to seduce people and fall in love with people, but also to use them and to turn people against each other,” Schulman explained to MTV.
Seasons one and two were about investigating the love lives of people via the Internet. Season three is more about digging deeper in the cyber world and educating people about the cyber-bullies, con-artists and scams that are happening right in front of so many eyes.
