Calum Hood, one of the 5 Seconds of Summer members, isn’t dead, but a death hoax is trending on Twitter.

The hoax confused many members of the group’s teenage fanbase on Sunday night.

Wrote one person on Twitter: “Why is #RIPCalum trending whats happening??”

“I’m not even a 5SOSer or whatever y'all call yourselves, but #RIPCalum is downright stupid. Please stop with these ”jokes“. It’s not funny,” said one person on Twitter.

Added another: “Why are people trying to trend #RIPCalum to try to get him to tweet? He deserves to have time off & to spend it with his family.”

“#RIPCalum could freak people out. Why joke about it,” wrote another.

Twitter death hoaxes trend all the time.

Notably, a few years ago, Justin Bieber was “killed off” by Twitter users. But other celebrities are made victim, with users tweeting “RIP.”
