Bob Filner, the embattled mayor of San Diego, will resign as part of a proposed settlement, according to NBC-7.

Filner will formally vacate his office following a closed session of City Council Friday, sources told NBC.

Filner has been accused of sexually harassing more than a dozen female employees while he was mayor.

Filner recently underwent counseling for several weeks.
