Black Friday approaches—as ominous as that sounds, it is, of course, more like the sound of cash registers ringing up sales to retailers—hopefully.
With promises of big reductions to lure holiday shoppers out to stores in the wee hours this Friday, retailers hope to go into the black and make a profit for the year. What was once a fun kick-off to the holiday shopping season has now become something of a blood sport, however, with frenzied deal-seekers trampling over each other to save a few bucks on the season’s hot buys.
