A SWEET BOUQUET: Macy`s department store kicked off its 36th annual flower show at the flagship Herald Square store on Sunday. The store`s main floor has been given a lavish spring treatment by 10 of the world`s leading floral designers. The day also incl Aloysio Santos/The Epoch Times
Some posited that this year’s “Black Friday” (the name given to the day after Thanksgiving, traditionally the biggest shopping day of the year) might be “Bleak Friday” as shoppers reined in holiday gift-buying because of the current financial uncertainty.
Judging by the turnout at this Macy’s in New York, retailers need not worry.
