On Beyonce’s new album “Lemonade,” some lyrics suggests that the singer had been beaten as a child, and Beyonce’s father was grilled about the subject after the album’s release. 

“Did he convince you that he was God? Are you a slave to the back of his hand?” Beyonce sang, quoting an extraction from a poem by Warsan Shire.
