B.B. King, the legendary guitarist, was rushed to the hospital in Las Vegas, a report said on Monday.
Celebrity news website TMZ broke the story, saying he was hospitalized over the weekend.
King, 89, had a diabetes-related emergency.
“Another source tells us the 89-year-old’s health emergency was the result of dehydration from his Type II diabetes ... a condition he’s lived with for more than two decades,” the site says.
On Twitter, after news of his hospitalization spread, there were rumors that he died. However, as usual, these aren’t true.
Last October, King had to cancel his remaining tour dates due to his medical condition.
He’s won 15 Grammy Awards and played an average of 300 shows per year for decades.

One of music’s best-regarded performers, King picked up the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2006 for his duets album 80, having won the award multiple times over the decades. Later that year, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush. The legendary singer and guitarist also became the subject of his own museum, which opened its doors in 2008. The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center in Indianola, Mississippi, is dedicated to King’s music, the music which influenced him, and the history of the delta area.
