Avengers 2, known as “Age of Ultron,” will hit the United Kingdom and Ireland before the United States.
Marvel announced that the sequel will hit theaters there (and likely other countries) on April 24, 2015.
That’s a week ahead of the May 1 release date for the U.S.
The sequel features many of the same stars as the original movie, including Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man).
Among the additions are Aaron Taylor Johnson (Quicksilver) and James Spader (Ultron; voice).
Director Joss Whedon recently said that Ultron, the main villain in the movie, is “a robot who’s genuinely disturbed.”
“I’m having a blast with Ultron. He’s not a creature of logic — he’s a robot who’s genuinely disturbed. We’re finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is,” he said.
Meanwhile Downey set off Twitter over the weekend after posting a photo of much of the cast dining in London during a break in filming.
Filming for the blockbuster is taking place across multiple countries.
