During the sessions of the National People’s Congress and National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, many appellants traveled to Beijing to voice their dissatisfaction. More and more appellants have started actively resisting the authorities who attempt to block their appeals.
Incident at Beijing South Railroad Station
Appellants from around China traveled to Beijing to pass out fliers, apply for demonstration permits, visit foreign embassies and display banners. The appellants have grown increasingly frustrated at the authorities blocking their appeals and have resorted to actions such as destroying police vehicles.
According to a witness, Beijing is undertaking a city-wide block against the appellants and authorities are confiscating their cell phones. On several occasions, appellants have united to beat authorities who obstruct their activities.
