Avi Shrestha, a 30-year-old resident in Kathmandu, lifted handfuls of debris as fast as he could from a building that collapsed near his house on April 25, when the initial 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit and shattered Nepal. But he could not move the chunks of concrete. He could not reach the voices.
