A shooting in Altura, CA on Thursday at an American Indian tribal headquarters left four people dead and two wounded, police said.
A female shooter opened fire inside, police told the Modoc County Record.
The building is at 300 West First Street.
The shooting happened during a meeting the Cedarville Rancheria was holding. It had purchased the building and was evicting several residents.
The woman pulled out a gun and shot five people. She pulled out a butcher knife and stabbed a sixth.
The two wounded have been taken to a hospital.
The suspected shooter has been taken into custody.
