Alex Turner, the lead singer of the Arctic Monkeys, is not dead, but a number of Twitter users want you to think that.
On Monday, throngs of users tweeted out “RIP Alex Turner” and similar messages with the hashtag “#RIPAlexTurner.”
“The rip alex turner thing was cruel i nearly had a panic attack,” wrote one user.
Another added: “#RIPAlexTurner trending because people are complaining that it’s trending. Now I’m complaining about them. Head turns inside out.”
The singer, however, is alive and well.
