Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez--after he was charged with murdering a semi-professional football player on Wednesday--is heading back to court to try and see if he can make bail.

On Wednesday, he was denied bail and was forced to spend the night in a local detention facility.

Hernandez will appear at the Fall River, Massachusetts, Superior Court, according to CSNNE-5.

During his night in prison, Hernandez was described as a “model inmate,” reported CNN, citing Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson. He said the 23-year-old Connecticut native was “polite and cooperative.”

He is accused of shooting and killing Odin Lloyd, whose body was found in in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez’s house.

“He orchestrated the crime from the beginning, he took steps to conceal and destroy evidence, and he took steps to prevent the police from speaking to ... an important witness,” First Assistant District Attorney Bill McCauley said on Wednesday in charging Hernandez.
