Patrick Gray Sharp, 29, was shot to death this morning after starting a fire outside and shooting at police headquarters in McKinney, Texas at about 9 a.m., The Dallas Morning News reported.

In a press conference, McKinney Deputy Police Chief Scott Brewer said the man drove a pickup truck with a trailer to the station and set it on fire, then started shooting at the police building.

He died from a gunshot wound after the police’s squelch, but it is unclear whether the shot was from police or self inflicted.

The crossfire also hit buildings at nearby Collin College but no one was injured according to a press release issued by the college.

According to police, the intent of the shooter remains unknown.
