Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former governor of California, said Friday that he is looking to return to acting.
“Exciting news. My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously,” he said via his Twitter account. “Gave them the green light today.”
The Creative Artists Agency is a talent agency based in Los Angeles.
The Canadian Press reported that his personal aide, Daniel Ketchell, confirmed the tweet.
While in office, Schwarzenegger had several bit parts in a few films including a cameo in 2003‘s The Rundown and 2004‘s Around the World in 80 Days. He made a brief cameo in last year’s The Expendables.
The Austrian-born bodybuilder-turned-actor was one of the most bankable stars throughout the 1980s and ‘90s, starring in the first two, hugely-successful Terminator films. Other notable films include True Lies, Eraser, and Kindergarten Cop.
