Armaan Jain is set to make his movie debut in Arif Ali’s “Lekar Hum Deewana Dil,” and fans are wondering who the 23-year-old is dating.
It turns out that not only is Jain without a girlfriend, he has never had one.
“I’ve never had a girlfriend. It sounds very funny but I haven’t. I don’t know why. It was probably because I was around 95 kilos, so no one probably looked at me. After that also, all the girls I knew made me their brother. They tied me rakhi,” he told IANS.
“And I started working very young. I was focused. I didn’t have time to go out also.”
Jain, the grandson of actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor, assisted filmmaker Karan Johar for some time.
Jain found the motivation to lose weight because he wanted to become an actor.
“I was really fat. I wanted to pursue acting. I realized that I had to stop eating at some point and get serious with going to the gym and dieting,” he said.
Jain admitted that his weight still fluctuates at times.
He also said that growing up he spent more time watching the stock markets and sports than movies, and that his parents supported his decision to leave college to pursue acting.
“I was nervous before telling my parents. They never thought I would take this decision. They were anxious as in how will I learn the craft,” he said.
“But they have been very supportive. They told me to follow my passion and that they would back me up as long as I work hard.”
