Often times there are costumes that are great during the Halloween season. Some costumes are funny, while others are more creative than anyone thought. The ingenuity that is shown on Halloween, especially from the post grad crowd in the recent years has been shocking. This will go over the costumes which this writer wishes would be more prevalent, and these are the costumes of people who changed the world over the course of time. Whether this be through politics or the way women were viewed in society. All of these people were important to the time they were associated with.
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe’s popularity stood the test of time as not only a sex symbol but also a symbol of women’s empowerment. Marilyn was herself and embraced the person that she was, this showed in many different ways. She strived to make herself happy, she was divorced on multiple occasions despite the fact that divorce was very unaccepted during her time. Marilyn took control of her own career and instead of being ordered around like many of the pretty faces of the time, she made her own decisions and was the most photographed woman of the 20th century. This quote from Viral Creek rang true, although she in many cases was more powerful and influential than the men beside her.
Wearing a costume of Marilyn is a great option for the ladies for many reasons. One of these reasons is that they do not have to sacrifice any sex appeal of their costume and one would lie to think that this is what Marilyn would have wanted!
Einstein
Albert Einstein is possibly the most influential scientist the the 20th century had to offer. Einstein developed the theory of relativity which he later won the Nobel Prize for. Another project that Einstein was involved in was one that changed the world as we know it. Albert was involved in the Manhattan project which developed the atomic bomb. This was after he wrote a letter to FDR stating that the US needed to develop the atomic bomb before the Germans. Many see this as the turning point in the war when the US dropped atomic bombs on Japan.
Wearing the Einstein commercial can be fun as you can customize it in many different ways. We can face it, the guy had sweet hair and can be pointed to as one of the brightest people of all time which is a great combination.
Cleopatra
Cleopatra is seen as a powerful woman who had clout that surpassed many male leaders of her time. She was known to be well read and educated in a variety of languages. Her demise came from a variety of reasons as she was quelling revolts and slowly being invaded. A woman of such education who garnered respect of men in a man dominated world is quite the inspiration.
