Apple Inc. has agreed to buy HopStop.com, according to a report from Bloomberg news on Friday.

Bloomberg, citing people with knowledge of the situation, said that the deal is intended to help improve Apple’s mapping technology services. The deal has not yet been made public yet.

HopStop, which is based in New York, provides maps and directions for dozens of cities across the United States and six countries.

The service provides users with the quickest way to get to a place by bike, foot, subway, and car.

Apple currently tells users of its products to get third-party apps for directions.
