More than five years after allegations of unfair business practices regarding music downloaded by Apple customers, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been ordered by a California judge to speak in court.

Jobs is being called into question in regards to song files sold by RealNetworks. Allegations have been made that Apple knowingly configured iPods to not accept files from its competitor’s software.

Science News Daily reported that attorneys will only be allowed to ask Jobs questions regarding the issues with RealNetworks and the iPod. Only two hours of the CEO’s time will be allotted to the legal team for questioning.

Magistrate Judge Howard R. Lloyd of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Jose issued the order Monday. Jobs has yet to make a public statement regarding the issue due to an ongoing illness. Jobs is currently on leave following a liver transplant resulting from his recent battle with cancer.

While the California legal system may have some issues with Jobs, the Walt Disney Company has re-elected the famed Apple CEO to serve on its board along with 12 other candidates. No word has been given as to when Jobs will return to work, following his illness, at either Apple or Disney.

Bloomberg reported that 74 percent of Disney’s shareholders voted for Jobs despite his absence from work at Apple and his recent legal troubles.

Apple is continuing to push the market forward with a new version of the popular iPad. The iPad 2 was released earlier this month and will soon be available for purchase around the world. Financial analysts have estimated that more than one million units of the new device were sold in the opening weekend of sales alone.
