The Associated Press projected President Donald Trump as the winner of the presidential election in Iowa, and former Vice President Joe Biden as the victor in Minnesota.

Iowa and Minnesota were among several states watched closely as key stepping stones toward victory by either candidate. The electoral map was still wide open when AP called the two states.

AP has not yet called a winner in Texas, where Trump held a substantial lead with the vast majority of the votes counted. Decision Desk HQ, another major race caller, declared Trump the winner in Texas.

Trump held the lead in six other states which AP had yet to call as of 12:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday: Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. Biden led in Arizona and Maine.

The AP electoral vote tally showed Biden in the lead 223-174, with 270 votes needed to win.
