NEW YORK-Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio made his first major appointments on Wednesday, filling out his senior staff.

He named Anthony Shorris as his First Deputy Mayor. Shorris is currently the Senior Vice President, Vice Dean, and Chief of Staff at NYU Langone Medical Center.

He previously served in the Koch administration as the Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and in the Bloomberg administration in the Department of Education.

Shorris will serve as the second highest ranking official at City Hall and be charged with managing day-to-day operations.

Dominic Williams, who was de Blasio’s Chief of Staff in the Public Advocates Office, will serve as Chief of Staff to Shorris in the new administration.

Emma Wolf was named as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. Wolf also worked in the Public Advocates Office with de Blasio and was his Deputy Campaign Manager in his successful bid for mayor.

She will work with officials at the city, state, and local level to lobby for his progressive agenda.

De Blasio did not say when he would name a police chief or a schools chancellor.
