At Annapolis High School in Maryland, students and parents must sign a contract that bans twerking and grinding, and clothing that shows “excessive amounts of skin.”

The “student dance contract” says that “sexually explicit dancing will not be tolerated.”

That’s defined as following:

Prohibited dance moves listed in the contract include:

  • Grinding or any other dancing that can be cosntrued as vulgar or provacative
  • Intimate touching of the breasts, buttocks, or genitals
  • Buttocks touching a partner or in the air
  • Making out (prolonged public displays of affection

Additionally, the dress code stipulates that dresses that “expose excessive amounts of skin,” including the midriff, chest, or legs above the knees, are prohibited.

The contract isn’t new but many of the stipulations are.

“Dances have become more provocative in recent years, and we’ve had some issues at schools frankly,” Bob Mosier, a spokesman for Anne Arundel County Public Schools told CBS.

“I think it’s fair, because some of the kids do need to tone it down,” said Nicole Harbor, a parent.

Students believe that twerking, or grinding, is to blame.

“I know my parents would never know what that was, but now they know what twerking is,” said Bailey Greene, a student.

If students disobey the contract, they will be removed from the dance, and parents will be expected to pick them up immediately.

Lexi Pline, Annapolis High School junior, told ABC that several people have been asked to leave from past Homecoming dances.

“They had people walking around a lot of the time, a bunch of chaperones and lot of the administrators would break up dancing couples if they saw something that they didn’t like,” said Pline.
