Anna Duggar and Josh Duggar are hoping for a fourth child soon, and Anna recently took a pregnancy test to see if she is pregnant with that child.
Josh and Anna seemed to indicate in the last 19 Kids and Counting episode, in which they kicked off their road trip to Chicago, that they were not pregnant, but they wanted to make sure in the next episode by taking the test.
The couple waited until they got to Chicago, where Anna’s sister Priscilla and her husband David had their toddler Paul open a box filled with colored balloons that revealed her baby’s gender. Because the show is filmed ahead of time, Priscilla had the baby girl, Davia Lynn, last week.
Anna took the pregnancy test just prior to her family leaving Chicago to head back to Washington, D.C., and discovered that she was not pregnant at the time.
However, she and Josh are optimistic for the future and do want more children.
“My heart is definitely to leave the size of our family in God’s hands but I’m the fifth born so that’s at least a good start,” Anna said. “Maybe God is giving us a space, because next we’re going to have twins.”
Anna said she wants to have at least five children. Josh said he’s “open to whatever” in terms of expanding his family.
“I mean I think my parents are extraordinary people to have had 19,” he said, “so I don’t know if we’ll have that many.”
Anna and Josh started their family in 2009.
Mackynzie was born in October of that year and is now 5; Michael was born in June 2011 and is now 3; and Marcus was born in June 2013 and is now 1.
Josh, 26, is the oldest child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who are famous for having 19 children and whose family often features on 19 Kids and Counting on TLC.
Anna, also 26, married into the family.
