Aniston cupping marks: From Jennifer Aniston’s back, it was clear that the actress uses cupping, a form of therapy that is part of Chinese medicine.

In cupping, cups are placed on the skin to create suction. Cups can be made from materials such as glass, bamboo, and earthenware. Original cupping involved hollowed-out animal forms.

Advocates of the medicinal method—which is part of traditional Chinese medicine, thought by purists to be the best system in the world—say cupping helps mobilize blood flow, thus helping heal from a variety of ailments.

Aniston was at the premiere of Call me Crazy, a new movie about mental illness that she co-produced, when she turned to the side. Her upper back was covered with marks that appear to be from cupping.

Aniston didn’t specifically say anything about cupping, but talked about her new movie and her fiance, Justin Theroux.

“Mental illness seemed to be [a topic] that a lot of us felt was an important one and touched a lot of our lives, a lot of our families lives,” she said, according to E Online.

She also told E that she hasn’t picked out a wedding gown.
