A so-called catfight is going to explode between Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston at the upcoming Oscars, according to a new report.

Aniston, the ex-wife of Brad Pitt, and Jolie, the current wife of Pitt, are both on track for Academy Award nods--Aniston for her performance in Cake and Jolie for Best Director for Unbroken--setting up the face-to-face meeting.

“It’s going to be the most talked-about event of the awards season, and everyone is hoping for a major catfight!” a source told the National Enquirer tabloid.

“But each of them have told Oscar organizers that under no circumstances is there to be any risk of a run-in. Everyone is tearing their hair out trying to make sure it doesn’t happen.”

The insider said that organizers are taking precautions, but that onlookers are preparing to snap a picture of the two.

“There will be a huge push to get these two in the same photo,” the source said. “No one wants to miss it.”

At the same time, Gossip Cop says that the story is made up.

“Deep down, the Enquirer knows this alleged Jolie-Aniston feud is 99.9 percent exaggeration and speculation,” it said.

“The magazine is trying to rile up readers with the idea of a ”looming“ catfight while covering itself for when no such catfight occurs.”

A source close to the situation called the story “insane” and “idiotic.”

Oscar nominations, by the way, will be announced in a little more than two months.
