Android is dominating iPhone and BlackBerry in the smartphone operating system recruit wars, says a Nielsen report released Tuesday.
Thirty-two percent of smartphone users who bought devices in the past six months bought Android phones, while Apple iOS and RIM BlackBerry each were receiving about 25 percent of the market share, according to Nielsen data from August.
BlackBerry had as much as 35 percent of the market share in June 2010, while number of new Android users has grown steadily since early 2010.
Among all smartphone users, however, BlackBerry still leads the pack with 31 percent market share.
iPhone is holding steady at 28 percent, and Android has risen to 19 percent—an 11 percent increase from January 2010.
