Andrew Boldt Dead: Senior Named Victim of Purdue University Shooting

Andrew Boldt, also known as Drew Boldt, a teaching assistant in the electrical engineering part of Purdue University, has been named as the victim of the shooting at the university on Tuesday.

Officials said that Cody Cousins, 23, targeted Boldt, a 21-year-old senior.

Cousins has been arrested.

Boldt was a teaching assistant for the ECE 363 lab.

He was scheduled to work from 11:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. today. The shooting happened just before noon.

Boldt was pronounced dead at the scene.

Boldt was an electrical engineering major and an Eagle Scout, according to his LinkedIn profile. He graduated from Marquette University High School, a private and all-male Jesuit Roman Catholic school in Milwaukee, in 2010.

Boldt became a teaching assistant at Purdue in August 2012. He worked for John Deere in Silvis, Illinois last summer and the summer before.

He had also worked for a start-up called Broan-Nutone LLC before that.

He had just finished his senior design project, building a semi-autonomous quadcopter with GPS waypoint control.

Classes have been canceled at the university tonight and tomorrow and a candelight vigil is planned for Boldt at 8 p.m.
