“We found out today that cowards took my brother’s life just weeks after his 30th birthday,” his brother, Levi, wrote in a message on Twitter. “I was blessed to have Justin as a big brother.”
Shults had been living in Brussels, Belgium, since 2014, working for the filtrations-system maker Clarcor.
“We grieve with his family and continue to offer our support as they mourn this unimaginable loss,” Clarcor said in a statement, ABC News reports. “Justin will be greatly missed by those who knew him.”
“We do not have news yet about Justin’s wife, Stephanie, and ask that you keep her and her family in your prayers.”
Shults had worked in Clarcor’s global finance division since 2012.
