Kellie Pickler, known for her spot on the 5th season of American Idol, recently announced that she is engaged. Pickler announced on her official website that she is set to wed songwriter Kyle Jacobs.
Pickler has done well for herself after making it to the top six during her time on American Idol. After recording two full-length studio albums, Pickler and her boyfriend have decided that it’s time to settle down. The singer recently commented on the day Jacobs proposed to her:
“It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life. My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother’s blessing,” Pickler told People Magazine.
Jacobs is known for his work as a songwriter. He proposed to Pickler at the beach in Florida, while the sun was setting.
“I remember saying to Kyle, ‘Baby it’s like I’m dreaming – but if this isn’t real, I’m going to be very upset!’” said Pickler.
Pickler and Jacobs met each other through mutual friends. They have been dating for two and a half years.
“Kyle took away all my fear of marriage and has shown me the way love is supposed to be. I’m in the happiest place I’ve ever been,” said Pickler.
Pickler is currently in the midst of a US tour. Her next show will be held at the Time Warner Pavillion in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday.
