American Idol producers will issue an apology to viewers during Wednesday night’s episode for new judge Steven Tyler’s behavior, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest revealed on his On-Air with Ryan Seacrest radio show on Wednesday.

“Well there’s a black card that starts the show tonight. It comes up on the screen,” said Seacrest, who co-hosted season one and has been the host since season two. “Now I just want to tell you part of it. You got to see and tell me what you think. As a matter of fact, watch the entire hour because it will all add up and make sense.”

The apology is in response to Tyler’s continual frowns, wandering eyes, strange facial expressions, and other issues during last week’s episode, Seacrest said.

When his radio co-host Ellen K. asked Seacrest if Tyler will be able to keep his job, Seacrest said that Tyler is a “homerun” and will likely stay.

American Idol, now in its 10th season, airs Wednesday night at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
