American Idol will now allow 15-year-olds to audition, for the first time, starting with its next season. The previous age limit was set at 16. The maximum age will remain unchanged at 28. This announcement comes as the show is expecting to make other changes, including naming a replacement for departing judge Simon Cowell as well as naming a new music director.
