I am a 76-year-old retired school teacher (39 years high school health), two-year army veteran, a two-time Olympian, and, most importantly, an American. I am deeply concerned with the direction of our country. For a number of reasons, we don’t think of ourselves as Americans but as either Democrat or Republican. You don’t see any successful sports team thinking of themselves as anything other than their team. If they don’t think of themselves as such, then you don’t have a team. As a country, we need to introduce education into our schools at least on How to think and determine reality. Most everyone today locks on to some form of thinking without any consideration of its view of reality. If we don’t all start thinking of ourselves as Americans first, instead of democrats or republicans, then we are not a team but we are divided which does not support strength or truth. At this point in my life, I am in serious doubt about the future of our country. Only time will tell.
