March 10, 2014 Updated: July 18, 2015

The Cosmos is full of mysteries. Many of those mysteries are not visible to the human eye. NASA’s Fermi Gamma-Ray Telescope is one of the may telescopes finding hundreds of new objects at the very edge of the electromagnetic spectrum. Many of them have one thing in common: Astronomers have no idea what they are.

This ScienceCasts episode by NASA from 2012 explores the groundbreaking research done at these wavelengths, including a complete map of the universe at the very edge of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Just imagine what else lies even beyond that spectrum!
