Alex Deibold’s girlfriend Ashley Berger got to see her boyfriend’s bronze medal win at the Olympics and celebrated with him and his family.

Berger wasn’t sure until early Tuesday morning whether she wold be able to stay in Sochi and see the competition because she needed a flight change after the competition was postponed.

But she got the change and was able to, along with Deibold’s sister Jillian and other family members.

“It was a last-minute change of plans, but it sure was worth it,” she told USA Today.

Deibold famously went from the Olympic snowboarding team’s wax technician to one of its top performers, culminating in this spot on the podium.

France’s Pierre Vaultier won gold, and Russia’s Nikolay Olyunin won silver.
