A man wearing Army fatigues apparently stole a police car in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Saturday before engaging with police. Reports said that at least one officer was wounded.

KASA-TV reported that Fourth Street NW and Montaño Road were locked down due to police activity.

Eyewitnesses said that there were multiple high-powered rifle shots in the area.

A witness told the station she saw a man wearing Army clothing take a police cruiser before police shot out the tire.

The man then fired an assault rifle at police, she added.

The Albuquerque Journal reported that the suspect stole a car and led police on a high-speed chase.
