Alabama Shooting: 3 People Injured in Blount County; Police Shoot, Kill Suspected Gunman
A suspected gunman was killed after a shootout with authorities in Blount County, Ala., on April 19.
The shooting happened near Highway 278, officials said on the Blount County Police Twitter account.
Police posted on social media the whereabouts of the suspect as they followed the individual.
Suspect is now on 278 headed east toward Snead with law enforcement following him. White Nissan tundra.

Blount County officials said the suspect was believed to be armed with a .40 caliber handgun and shotgun. Authorities said the individual may have been shooting into multiple vehicles in Brooksville and Marshall counties.
Tim Kent from the Blount County Sheriff’s office said the suspect may also have been involved in a shooting near a convenience store early in the morning, as well as shooting into three vehicles and hitting three people, according to WIAT.com.
The victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital.

Shots were also reported near Rocky Hollow Road.
Kent said the chase concluded at about 8:30 a.m., when the suspect was killed by authorities after he shot at police.
Police said on Twitter that Highway 278 from Rainbow Crossing to Brooksville Crossing was closed until further notice.
