Even as KFC finally emerges from a grave chicken shortage in the UK, it still faces a shortage of some crucial condiments, namely gravy.

Last week almost 700 of some 900 KFC restaurants in the United Kingdom closed doors as a new delivery partner struggled to ship enough chicken to the fast food joints.

On Monday, Feb. 26, KFC announced over 95 percent of the restaurants were up and running again.

“We have chicken,” the Twitter statement reads. “But the menus are limited and we know we still have a number of our other usual ingredients missing.”
On Wednesday, a KFC spokesperson told the Sun that 97 percent of the restaurants were open, but “some restaurants are continuing to serve a reduced menu, including gravy.”

“We’re working as hard as we can to get this sorted out, we know that our gravy is a big favourite,” the spokesperson said.

The supply problems started when KFC recently switched its delivery company, Bidvest, for DHL and German group QSL.

Customers have criticised and ridiculed the delivery fumbles.

“My worst fears have been confirmed! KFC HAS A GRAVY SHORTAGE,” Twitter user @daletwentyone said.

“KFC could survive no chicken but no gravy??... it’s curtains!” said user @hayhenderson90.

“WHO EVEN BUYS CHICKEN AND CHIPS FROM KFC WITHOUT GRAVY,” user @quitkatie said.

“Yo @KFC_UKI I’m planning on getting a lot of wings delivered on Sunday to Stratford London, with gravy. What are my chances of success?” user @MarkDefeo said.
