Singer Adele reportedly damaged her vocal cords and was forced to cancel two Wembley Stadium shows.

In a Facebook post, the singer wrote an emotional plea to her fans, saying she can’t go on.

“To say I’m heartbroken would be a complete understatement,” the chart-topping singer wrote. “To not complete this milestone in my career is something I’m struggling to get my head around and I wish that I wasn’t having to write this. ... I’m sorry. I’m devastated.”

“I’m so desperate to do them that I’ve even considered miming, just to be in front of you and be with you,” she added, referring to lip-syncing. “But I’ve never done it and I cannot in a million years do that to you. It wouldn’t be the real me up there.”

It marks the end of a 15-month tour throughout Europe, Australia, the United States, and New Zealand.

She added: “I don’t know if I'll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.”

Refunds will be available if the shows cannot be rescheduled, adding that it might be her last-ever tour dates.

“I’m sorry, I’m devastated,” Adele added. “I’m sorry. I love you. I’m so sorry. Please forgive me x.”

Some fans encouraged her in the comments section of the post.

“Do not apologize for something that you have no control over. Your fans love you and surely understand. First and foremost, take care of yourself!!!” one person wrote.

Some people weren’t pleased, saying they want their money back.

“Can ticket holders please be given an OFFICIAL update? Of course we all only want the best for Adele & adore her, but it is so ludicrous and disrespectful for all of us who have scrimped, saved & traveled internationally for this show to find out about cancellation through social media!!!” another wrote. “My mom & sister have flown from New York for this concert- a once in a lifetime event that they’ve saved for, all hotels booked & nonrefundable.”
