Adam Kuhn, the chief of staff to Republican Rep. Steve Stivers of Ohio, resigned on Tuesday after Jennifer Roubenes Allbaugh, known as “Ruby Adultstar,” posted a graphic photo on Twitter.
Kuhn is single while Allbaugh is married.
In a statement, Kuhn said he was the victim of an attack on Twitter from a woman with whom he had a personal relationship.
“I realize and apologize that I had used poor judgment in my personal life regarding this relationship,” he said.
In the last week, the woman tweeted at least one photo of Kuhn’s penis to Stivers’ Twitter account. Kuhn said Allbaugh has reached out and apologized to him.
A spokeswoman for Stivers, Courtney Whetstone, said the congressman had accepted Kuhn’s resignation and that the office had no comment on Kuhn’s personal life.
Kuhn was a key player in Stivers’ campaigns for several election cycles, and moved up inside the office before becoming chief of staff in 2013. He was making $130,000 a year.
Allbaugh confirmed to Politico that she sent the tweet, explaining that she was upset that Kuhn had ended the relationship between her and him. It’s not clear when the photos were taken.
Allbaugh says she was out for “revenge.” “I hate you, AJK, you selfish pompous [expletive],” Allbaugh tweeted on June 21. “Now we’re even.”
Allbaugh has been involved with a number of adult films, although she stopped several years ago to focus on raising her children.
