Actor on school board: An actor who plays a DEA agent on the AMC show “Breaking Bad” will be sworn in Wednesday on the Albuquerque school board.
One of the actors on the “Breaking Bad” television show will be sworn in as a member of the Albuquerque school board.
Steven Michael Quezada, who plays DEA agent Steven Gomez in Emmy-winning series, will take his oath on Wednesday, reported The Associated Press.
He won a seat to represent Albuquerque’s District five school board last month, according to KRQE television.
Three of his four children go to the Public Academy for the Performing Arts charter school in Albuquerque. He has been active with on school’s board, according to AP.
“A lot of kids fall through the cracks because they’re not good at history ... they’re not good at math, or they’re not good at English,” Quezada told KRQE in February.
He added: “So, we lose those kids because there’s no interest to go to school anymore.”
“Breaking Bad,” which is filming and finishing its final season this year, tells the story of Walter White, a former high school chemistry teacher. White is diagnosed with cancer and then manufactures and sells methamphetamine with a former student.
