At five hour mark, with 152 laps done, Buddy Rice in the #5 Action Express car is five seconds ahead of Ricky Taylor in the SunTrust Machine, with the two Telmex Ganassi cars right behind. Juan Pablo Montoya in the 02 is third, another five seconds back, while Memo Rojas in the 01 lies fourth, six seconds behind his teammate. Chriostian Fittipaldi in the other Action Express Car is fifth.

GT is back in the hands of Porsche, with Mark Lieb’s # 59 Brumos Porsche leading by nine seconds over Rob Bell’s Paul Miller #48 Porsche and a minute ahead of Andy Lally in the #67 TRG Porsche.

Bell nearly ended his race on lap 142 when Bell tried to cut inside Tom Papadopoulos in the #32 PR1 Motorsports BMW M6. The two touched, Bell went off, while Papadoppoulos spun, collecting the #69 SpeedSource Mazda RX-8 of Nick Ham and the #7 Banner Racing Camaro of Eric Curran. The Mazda and Camaro were heavily damaged.

The fastest car on track was the #45 Flying Lizard Riley Porsche, still 18 laps down.
