Abukar Madey, a 15-year-old Franklin High School student, was  shot in Portland, Oregon on Sunday and died of his wounds.

Madey was shot in the head next to the MAX platform at the Holgate Transit Station, reported KPTV. He was taken to a hospital but died from his wounds.

Alex Ramirez, 22, was also shot, but is recovering in a hospital.

Madey was a freshman at Franklin High School, where his sister is also a student.

Ramirez is a member of a Hispanic street gang and detectives haven’t ruled out the possibility of a gang shooting.

Madey and Ramirez were “associated to one another,” according to police.

Detectives believe that there may be witnesses to the shooting that have not come forward with information.

Anyone with information is asked to call 503-823-9319.
