On Aug. 12, two large explosions took place at a container storage station in the port city of Tianjin at about 11:30 p.m., killing at least 50 people and injuring hundreds, according to initial, official reports. 

The devastation was captured on cell phone cameras as it took place, by sometimes terrified observers. Following is a compilation of videos and images of the explosions, as well as a review of the aftermath. 

The Location

The explosions took place at facilities belonging to Tianjin Dongjiang Port Ruihai International Logistics, established in 2012.
