5-year-old drum major Taranza McKelvin made his debut–wearing a uniform–leading a marching band for halftime. The 5-year-old played with the band at the Muck Bowl in Florida.
“He catches on a lot faster than most of my students, he’s a very unique kid,” band director Charles Moorer told WPTV.
He was enrolled in a marching band at Glades Central High School in Florida.
“I was nervous when I first got out into the field, but then I just performed,” he said.
He added: “I watched some of the band videos and it teaches me moves.”
