Say hello to a new area code, 437, which will be new to Toronto on March 25, 2013.
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRCT) has reserved 437 as well as 387 for “area code relief,” saying in a recent document that without the numbers, Toronto will run out of phone numbers by July 2015.
Just like the previous adjustment ten years ago when individuals changed to the 647 area code, it may be a reluctant change at first as people become familiar with the new area code.
The 905 region will get 365 as a new area code on the same day.
