A heartbreaking video of a 4-year-old boy singing to his baby sister who passed away earlier this year has gone viral.

Alex who lives in San Antonio, Texas was filmed singing “Remember Me” from the movie “Coco” to his young sister Ava Lynn who died at 4 months old after being diagnosed with hydronephrosis, a condition that affects the kidney, reported ABC News.

On what would have been Ava’s first birthday, Alex decided to grab his guitar and sing to his sister for her birthday.

Alex’s father, Samir, posted the video on Twitter and it has garnered over 1.1 million views and been retweeted over 40,000 times as of Jan. 2.

“He’s only 4 years old and he understands. He didn’t even know he was being recorded. He just wanted to sing to her for her 1st birthday!” Samir wrote in his post on Dec. 30.

Many people were touched by the adorable sibling bond.

In response to the sympathetic messages, Samir said his family was brought to tears by how much love his family and children have received after he posted the video.
